Product Overview
Econ 60 is an economical and fast curing Shore 60A urethane rubber, perfect for a wide range of applications. With no odor, a convenient 1A:1B by volume mix ratio, and low viscosity, it's easy to mix and pour. The translucent clear amber color makes it easy to color with SO Strong, UVO, or IGNITE colorants.
Key Features
Econ 60 has a working time of about 6 minutes and a handling time of 4 hours at room temperature. It's suitable for making limited run production rubber molds, stamping pads, rubber prototype parts, and pour-in-place gaskets. It's also ideal for coating fabrics and making rubber props.
Preparation and Application
To ensure a successful application, store and use Econ 60 at room temperature (73°F/23°C) with minimal environmental humidity. Wear safety glasses, long sleeves, and rubber gloves to minimize contamination risk. Prepare surfaces properly, and apply a release agent as needed.
Tips and Tricks
To achieve the best results, use a vacuum degassing technique to eliminate entrapped air in the liquid rubber. A pressure casting technique can also yield totally bubble-free rubber. Post-curing the rubber at 150°F (65°C) for 4 to 8 hours can increase its physical properties and performance.
Performance and Storage
Fully cured Econ 60 is tough, durable, and will perform well if properly used and stored. The physical life of the rubber depends on how you use it. With proper storage and handling, Econ 60 can provide long-lasting results.
