This exceptional molding material features Smooth-On's exclusive "Libra" catalyst, ensuring a long library life and superior working properties. With a lower viscosity Part A, Mold Max 25 is easier to mix and degas, making it perfect for large mold pours or pouring multiple molds from a single batch of rubber.

Mold Max 25 can be pigmented with Silc Pig silicone colorants and has a working time of 60 minutes, allowing for a longer time to pour and create intricate molds. The material cures overnight at room temperature, and vacuum degassing is recommended to remove entrapped air. This silicone rubber can be thickened with THI-VEX additive for brush-on applications and can cast a variety of materials, including wax, gypsum, low-melt alloys/metals, and urethane, epoxy, or polyester resins.

Mold Max 25 is suitable for making molds for reproducing prototypes, furniture, sculpture, and architectural elements. The rubber can be used to create molds with fine details and can be released easily with a release agent like Ease Release 200. It is essential to follow the instructions carefully, including weighing Part A and B components using a gram scale, working in a well-ventilated area, and wearing protective gear.

Before applying the Mold Max 25, ensure the surface is clean and dry. A small-scale test is recommended to ensure compatibility between the rubber and the surface. A "barrier coat" of clear acrylic lacquer can be applied to prevent inhibition. If needed, a release agent can be applied to make demolding easier.

Mold Max 25 can be accelerated with Accel-T silicone rubber accelerator, but this will reduce the working time and library life of the mold. Alternatively, Silicone Thinner can be used to lower the mixed viscosity, making it easier to de-air and flow over intricate details.
