Description
Chavant Castilene Green is a revolutionary sulfur-free modeling compound that combines the versatility of clay with the workability of wax. This exceptional product is designed to make your creative process easier, faster, and more efficient. The medium grade Castilene is perfect for adding intricate details, while the hard grade is ideal for achieving sharp, precise details.

What sets Castilene apart from other modeling compounds is its unique properties. Its lightweight and compatible with silicones and other rubbers, making it an excellent choice for a wide range of applications. The strength and light weight of Hard Castilene even allow for sculpting without the need for a wire armature in many cases, giving you more freedom to explore your creativity.

When it comes to physical properties, Castilene boasts a density of 68.6 lbs./cu. ft. and a specific gravity of 1.1 g/cm. Its softening temperature varies depending on the grade, with Castilene Soft softening at 125°F (71°C), and Castilene Medium and Hard softening at 130°F (54°C). The recommended temperatures for troweling, brushing, and casting are 160°F (71°C), 170°F (77°C), and 185°F (85°C), respectively.

To get the best out of your Castilene, it's essential to use the right polishing and finishing methods. We recommend using wax-compatible products such as Goo Gone, De-Solv-it, d-limonene, or Prepsol-based products to achieve a flawless finish. You can also use mineral oil, Turpinoid, and petroleum products to lubricate the surface. For a high-gloss finish, try polishing with Chiffon, nylon, or burnishing tools.

As an added benefit, Castilene is fully compatible with silicone mold rubbers and other mold materials, making it an excellent choice for a wide range of applications. And, if you're working with lost wax casting, you can burn out Castilene without any issues.

At Chavant, we're committed to providing high-quality products that meet the highest standards of quality and safety. When working with Castilene, be sure to follow proper hygiene practices by washing your hands with soap and water after use. With its unique properties and versatility, Castilene is an excellent addition to any artist's toolkit. Whether you're a professional artist or a hobbyist, this remarkable product is sure to unlock your full creative potential.
