Rublev Colours Roman Black is comparatively neutral in undertone and is non-greasy when compared to carbon blacks.The composition of our Roman black earth consists of the minerals magnetite (iron oxide), calcite (calcium carbonate) and pyrolusite (manganese oxide). Some separation of pigment and oil may occur in Rublev Colours Artist Oils and is a natural process when no wax or stabilizers are added to paint to prevent this from occurring.
