Our BEST Cross Braces are meant to work with BEST Stretcher Bars; they fit flush at the back of the bar for a snug and secure fit. Best Cross Braces are made of kiln-dried, knot-free pine, and have a 13/16" profile and measure 1-3/4" wide. They are designed to brace the back side of your stretched canvas.
Remember, paintings hang for years on end, and lumber can bow over time. You want the best support to ensure tight canvas for years to come. If your painting is more than 36" in length or width, we recommend adding a cross brace every 36" after that.
Heavy-duty cross braces should only be used with BEST Heavy-duty Stretcher bars.
