Description
Azbrowax 2.5Lb Block is the ultimate choice for professional sculptors, model makers, and jewelers seeking a high-quality casting and carving wax. This premium wax boasts exceptional strength, allowing it to withstand light machining and retain even the sharpest details. Whether you're creating intricate jewelry designs or complex sculptures, AzbroWax provides the ideal foundation for bringing your visions to life.

One of the standout features of AzbroWax is its versatility. You can carve it as is or melt and pour it into a mold, giving you the flexibility to adapt to your creative process. The material's rigidity ensures it can handle the demands of various sculpting and casting techniques, making it an essential tool for artists and craftspeople.

For casting, simply prepare your mold by heating it gradually and applying a thin coating of dry mold release. Then, melt the AzbroWax in a pot over a low flame or hot plate to around 225°F, stirring constantly to prevent separation. Once cooled to 160°F, carefully pour the wax into your heated mold, and allow it to sit for a few hours before demolding.

When it comes to carving, securing your piece in a vice or similar contraption is essential to prevent movement. Begin shaping and modeling the wax with heated and/or sharp tools, such as a wax tool with a controllable thermostat. To add finer details, use hand or power tools, and don't forget to use water as a lubricant when working with high-speed rotary tools. For a flawless finish, smooth surfaces with sandpaper, buff with high-grade abrasives or nylon stockings and solvent, and finally, achieve a showroom shine with a water-based buff.

This exceptional wax has a 4% shrinkage rate, making it crucial to avoid using armatures in your castings, as they may crack during cooling. Additionally, measuring the temperature carefully with a thermometer is vital to prevent the AzbroWax from bonding to the mold surface. To adhere AzbroWax to itself, simply melt both pieces and stick them together.

Rob Bloom, an esteemed artist, has praised AzbroWax as a "very nice rigid wax" that "molds well, sculpts well and seems to handle accidental drops better than some of the other popular sculpting waxes." Invest in fine-sculpting tools or a Wax Pen with interchangeable shaping tips to unlock the full potential of this outstanding wax. AzbroWax is also compatible with electric tools like Dremels, and remember to always use water as a lubricant when working with power tools. With AzbroWax, the possibilities are endless, and the results are truly exceptional.
