FULL PRODUCT LINE10 TIMES STRONGER THAN REGULAR BATS!
If you like throwing on plaster bats, you will love using a Hydro-Bat! The Hydro-Bat was developed right here in Philadelphia by The Ceramic Shop’s owner, Mark Lueders. Because the Hydro-Bat is made of Hydro-Stone instead of the standard pottery plaster, it’s full eight to ten times stronger than similar products. Hydro-Stone is a US Gypsum material containing cement and crystalline silica so it’s very absorbent, AND very strong -- you will find the surface of our bats to be scratch resistant, while the bats’ water-absorbing properties fully eliminate the need to cut your pieces off of the bat with a wire.
Adapter 10" to 6" & 4"This adapter is for Hydrobats sizes: 6", 8.5" and 10" as well as the Hydrobat Hump molds sizes 8", 9", 11.5".
The adapter is made of sturdy ABS plastic with holes drilled to fit on a standard wheel heads with bat pins spaced 10" apart. Two bat pins are set in the top of the adapter spaced 6" apart, allowing 8.5" and 10" Hydrobats to fit snuggly onto the adapter. Smaller Hydrobats like the 8.5" and 10" are great for production potters making multiples of small cups and bowls.
Now also comes pre-drilled for the 6" mini bats, simply transfer the pins into those holes when needed.
Pin holes are threaded and they can be easily unscrewed using a 3/16" hex drive, also known as an allen wrench.
The 6" mini is our smallest Hydrobat size yet. Loved by production potters everywhere, the 6" mini will save you time and money while you throw. All Hydrobats are made from hydrostone plaster to absorb moisture like regular pottery plaster but with extra strength to prevent chips and cracks for those of us with butterfingers.
*The 6" mini Hydrobat requires a 10" to 4" adapter to fit on a wheelhead with bat pins spaced 10" apart.
