Oil Painting Gel Medium Sampler 1
Unlock the full potential of your oil painting skills with the Rublev Colours Oil Painting Gel Medium Sampler 1, a unique opportunity to explore three of our best-selling gel mediums. This sampler set is perfect for artists looking to experiment with new techniques, expand their creative horizons, and discover the optimum medium for their artistic vision.
The Rublev Colours Gel Mediums Set 1 includes Oleogel, Venetian Medium, and Italian Varnish, each with its unique characteristics and uses. Oleogel, a thixotropic painting medium made with linseed oil and pyrogenic silica, adds transparency and a thixotropic body to oil, resin-oil, or alkyd paint. Unlike other mediums, Oleogel does not contain driers, ensuring safe use in oil painting without the risk of cracking. When mixed with colors, Oleogel doesn't slow down the drying time, allowing for a seamless creative process.
Venetian Medium, inspired by the techniques of 16th-century Venetian painters, contains leaded crystal glass powder, pale-bodied linseed oil, and turpentine, with small amounts of wax and lead. This medium sets quickly while providing transparency and greater body to oil colors when mixed with them in glazes. It gives a lighter consistency to paint, making many different subtle techniques possible. Italian Varnish, on the other hand, is a fast-drying medium that sets quickly while providing transparency and greater body to oil colors when mixed with them in glazes. It gives a lighter consistency to paint, making many different subtle techniques possible.
With this sampler set, you can experiment with different techniques, such as creating impasto effects with Oleogel, achieving glaze brilliance with Venetian Medium, or adding depth and luminosity with Italian Varnish. The possibilities are endless, and the results will be breathtaking. Whether you're a seasoned artist or just starting out, the Rublev Colours Oil Painting Gel Medium Sampler 1 is an essential tool in your artistic journey.
