It started with Fun & Creativities. In 1988, the original founder, Yataro Horikiri, established Sakura Hobby Craft in the United States with his joy and passion to share the Fun of Creativities. The products, innovative craft kits, were not only easy and fun, but also durable and practical for use in our daily lives. Mixing traditional American crafting with Asian cultures, the products started to sell throughout the United States. In 1992, the company introduced the US patented 3D Crystal Lacquer, the first product of its kind in the market.
